In the first week of July, the groundbreaking ceremony was held for the renovation of 92 homes and infrastructure in the Nascer do Sol neighborhood, in Santa Cruz, Praia da Vit\u00f3ria, Terceira Island.<\/p>\n
This ceremony was presided over by the Vice-President of the Regional Government of the Azores, with the Regional Secretary for Youth, Housing, and Employment and the Mayor of Praia da Vit\u00f3ria in attendance. The project covers 92 homes that were built by Seth at the beginning of the century. Interestingly, it was on March 27, 2002, that the US Department of Defense awarded Seth the contract called Replace Military Family Housing, Phase II, Lajes Field, Azores.<\/p>\n
Twenty-two years after its completion, the vacant houses, which were handed over to Portugal by the US State Department, will be rehabilitated through an investment of just over \u20ac11 million that the Regional Government of the Azores awarded to the Seth + CMM\/Cartor\/VHC consortium, with Seth as the consortium leader.<\/p>\n
On the day of the groundbreaking ceremony, Fernando Sim\u00f5es and Carlos Leal (for Seth) and Jorge Martins (for CMM\/Cartor\/VHC) represented the winning consortium.<\/p>\n
According to a press release from the Vice-Presidency of the Regional Government, the project is part of a strategy to recover the vacant housing stock in the Autonomous Region, and after the completion of the planned 450 days of work, the renovated houses will be available for rent with an option to buy, in a bid to settle families and create conditions for housing stability on Terceira Island, a region where Seth has been present since 1961 as a leading contractor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
